In this article, Julia (@thenursingjourney), the featured nurse of the week, shares her own personal nursing journey and experiences!
“I initially went into nursing because I wanted to pursue a career as a CRNA, but my passion comes from my dad who had a heart attack when I was younger and my sister who was diagnosed at 16 with idiopathic rheumatoid arthritis. Not only did this spark my desire to want to work in the medical field, but I also just simply love to give back and help others!”
“I graduated in August of 2017 with my bachelors in nursing and passed my nclex, so I’m Julia Filkins BSN, RN and I plan on going back to graduate school for my CRNA. I’m taking chemistry courses right now so I can apply for graduate school next summer.”
“The most rewarding thing about being a nurse is when your patient and family say thank you and truly appreciate the hard work you put in, or when you stabilize a patient and save them!”
